(Some of you may have already received this invitation. I apoligize for the
duplication.)
Dear PI,
Over the past few months many of you have participated in the TEECH
discussion group entitled "After the Workshop Ends: Difficulties,
Reflections, And Strategies" We have heard from many of you that this
discussion was useful and often relevant to your work. Within the next few
weeks we will provide reflections on this discussion both in text and in Real
Audio (http://www.realaudio.com> which will be available at the TEECH web
site (http://hub.terc.edu/terc/teech.html) . RealAudio delivers live and
rebroadcast music and audio over the Internet .The Real Audio software can be
downloaded for free ; it decompresses and plays audio instantly, without
download delays.
We would now like to invite all PIs and co-PIs of teacher enhancement grants
to join an interactive discussion group which will include panel discussions
in addition to the listserv. These panel discussions will be made available
to the TEECH community using a new technology called Real Audio. (We will be
sending you more information on how Real Audio works under separate cover).
The topic of the new discussion group will be "Leaving a Legacy: Sustaining a
Project after the Funding Ends. " This discussion group will begin on
January 25th.
The discussion will proceed as follows:
During the first two weeks participants will be asked to briefly introduce
themselves and their project and to state one or more questions that they
have regarding sustaining their project.
Some questions that PIs already voiced in their needs survey were:
*What is left behind after a project ends? (variation in products)
*What is the long term impact of a TE project?
*What are NSF's perspectives and expectations of sustainability?
*What are NSF's expectations about sustainability?
During this initial period the group will gain a sense of the questions that
are most relevant to this community. These questions will then be passed to a
panel that will convene to share their varied perspectives on some of the
issues that have emerged. The panel discussion will be made available both
in text version and Real Audio.
We hope that the panelists' perspectives will serve to stimulate further
thought and discussion among the PI community which will ensue in the
listserv.
To participate in the conversation, subscribe to the listserv as follows
