I want to thank all of the LSC participants who attended and helped
with the NSF and CUSER strand on systemic reform of K-8 science
education at the national NSTA convention in New Orleans. By popular
demand we have decided to continue the tradition and plan a two day
session for next year as well. Hopefully, we will even be able to
offer visits to the Las Vegas LSC for the day before the convention.
Currently our thinking is to have longer sessions in a larger room.
Our topics will continue the discussion of this year and longer
sessions on professional development, assessment, leadership, and case
making should allow for a wider variety of formats. Since, the
deadline for our strand submission is June 2, please let me know
immediately if you have any specific suggestion.
May 1 was the deadline for regular sessions. It is very important
that you fax me a copy of any sessions you are submitting. (FAX 703
306-0412) I will be able to make sure that the dates and times
assigned to you do not conflict with the NSF strand.
