Seems to me that saying that the world was flat, or pi was 3, was perfectly
good (consensus) UNTIL someone PROVED by a stronger argument that they were
not so. At that time (not immediately of course), consensus shifted to the
new TRUTH. Pedagogical issues are a little more difficult to make strong
arguments (backed by data) for, and it seems clear that there is more than
one "right" answer. What do you think?
