Jane,

Sorry that nothing about the Writing Project is on the TEECH server. I
think we are still reluctant to acknowledge what we can learn from the
other disciplines and subject areas. Nevertheless, there is tons of stuff
on the Writing Project Model--given its 25 year history and reputation, it
has been well documented and scrutinized. A place to start might be ERIC.
Also, Judith Warren Little has done several studies of professional
development that include the writing project model in her study sample. I
don't have a web address off hand, but I am sure if you list Bay Area
Writing Project or the National Writing Project with any search engine,
lots will come up.

Of course, I'd love to share more anytime you want to discuss it more
extensively. We tryed to bring the model over into South Carolina in
mathematics and science when I was still there--and I think with a lot of
success (it's the central feature of the SC SSI). I think 90 percent of
the model is transferable as is. But we had a lot of help, support and
patience.

My current phone number is 415.353.0496 if you want to talk more about it.
Thanks for the response. I'll follow-up on those references that you gave.

Best,
Dennis
