What distinguishes the different kinds and uses of discussion forums?
==> I think it would be a great idea for someone to develop a taxonomy (or
perhaps several) of types/uses/purposes/contexts for discussion forums!
Some random thoughts/typcategories: courses (EDC's NCIP), study groups
(CESAME's BIMP), open ended interest groups (BBN's VISTA), goal/product
based task forces (Jim Kaput's roup that wrote a book),
